Ever since I was a kid I wanted to make video games. I was always imagining incredible worlds.
I work in animation, I have experience building websites and systems and I'm comfortable with code (very comfortable, I'd say), but NEVER at a level that would let me build a game like the ones I imagined. That's why I find it INCREDIBLE what AI tools make possible today: things I only thought I'd achieve in my dreams.
It's not that I'm too lazy to learn new things. Adult life simply eats up a lot of your time with things you don't want to do, and I'd rather build projects like this than give up and say I never tried.
This game isn't perfect. It isn't the best game in the world, it isn't polished at all and it isn't a triple A. BUT it's probably the first REAL step I've been able to take in video games, and it's my first demo that I truly like and am showing to the world. A tribute to the kid I used to be, the one who dreamed of making games, and at the same time to a series that left a huge mark on me: StarCraft.
About how it was made: I directed it, and we built it with AI on several fronts. A lot of people will say "oh, it's made with AI, it doesn't count", but this goes beyond that. There are many details that simply come from the author's touch, in this case, mine. I made this game. It's mine. I directed it. Me and my AI tools, commanded by me and by my creativity.
It's a small grain of sand for the StarCraft community around the world. I'm hoping for your thoughtful feedback to keep making it better.
